Streets of Brighton

10th Anniversary of Streets of Brighton.

New work is at the heart of the Streets of Brighton and the Showcase attracts street arts bookers from all over Europe to the city.  You can watch world premieres, English premieres, sneak previews, works in progress, new shows from established companies and debut shows of young companies from all over Europe...There is no other festival like it in the country. So take a wander around the North Laine in the daytime and through the city in the evening and let the Festival come to you!

By Day

This year, amongst the crowds, look out for Speakeasy Theatre's debut show, The Radio Show  - a live recreation of a 1930s wireless broadcast, and Freddery by The Freds, featuring a couple of aliens with extraordinary bodyparts!
There will be a host of new shows by  companies such as: Hoodwink with Tock Tick - an extraordinary animated clock tower complete with mice and an ailing cuckoo! and the Mahoney Brothers with their young buckaroo - Pony Mahoney. Aerial shows by Circus Project - a fairytale Persian Cinderella, and Arabesque's birds of paradise in Birdcage will also delight. There will also be a full programme of cabaret in the magnificent Spiegel Tent, with a special performance, T'es QuiToi? by French circus company Theatre Elixir.
The North Laine will be packed with street performers at their most weird and wonderful, so take to the streets for a weekend of flamboyant and completely free entertainment.

The Streets of Brighton truly come to life after dark with some of the festival's mos tvibrant and explosive free entertainment. There will be mind-boggling performances on each night of Streets of Brighton. Night time is the right time! With performances by;

Painful Creatures features music, installations, puppets, sculpture, performance art, banners, and a celebratory 'Wickerman' bonfire.  'Something Wicked This Way Comes!'

Carnival Collective Depth Charge - World Premiere

The show  is a brave new phenomenon incorporating mobile sound and light in the form of Scratch DJs, Brass, Keyboards, Bass and a 40 strong batteria.
